2022 Hentley Farm Wines Zinfandel, Barossa Valley

I like the cascade of spice in zinfandel. Relentless and kinetic, it drifts through the deep plummy fruit like a matrix, settling on the compact granitic tannins in a sedimentary fashion, layer upon layer. The booze level is getting up there on this one, but it's balanced, a blend of red and dark berry fruits, some dried citrus rind, licorice with a hint of rose petal. Good it is. Very good. DB 15.8% alc.
