Society wins big

Melbourne’s Society Restaurant has earned the title of Best New Wine List in the World at the 2023 World of Fine Wine Awards. Loïc Avril, head of wine for Lucas Restaurants, which owns the Collins Street venue, jetted off to London in September to accept the award. Society joins a growing list of Aussie venues that have won an accolade from the British wine magazine. In 2020, Melbourne’s Supernormal picked up the gong for World’s Best Short Wine List, while Pilu at Freshwater in Sydney won Best Regional Wine List in 2018.
