Bottle age has made this approachable; the sheer density of fruit and ambitious French oak cladding suggests that it would’ve been impenetrable before now. Sweet cocoa on the nose. Coffee bean, wet earth, breakfast tea leaves, mulch, sage and blackcurrant, all. The oak, still very palpable but no longer domineering. The tannins, detailed, thickly textured and nicely pliant, guiding a long finish. Will age further. Well. NG 14% alc.
